ITS Backup Phone System Hosting
Our Backup Phone System Hosting service will provide your company with continued phone services during a service outage. A service outage can be defined as any event that renders your business resources inaccessible; be it a circuit outage (phone or Internet), power outage, building outage due to a natural disaster or any other unforeseeable event. To achieve this level of business continuity service ITS will setup a duplicate configuration of your phone system menus and extensions on our hosted phone system located at both of our Tier IV (Tier IV is the highest redundancy rating) data centers.
The backup phone system provides the following functionality:
- The system will have a dial by name direct and extensions that match your company phone system extensions
- The extensions will be programmed to forward to a designated number such as your cell phone or home phone
- Voicemail messages can be delivered to any e-mail address
- Voicemail messages can be listened to by dialing into the main number
- Voicemail messages can be retrieved in file format from your own private website
- Call History can be checked from your own private website
- Find Me can be configured on your voicemail greeting to enable callers to press a number and have the phone system forward the call to a preconfigured number. For example your message could say 'I am not available, please leave a message or press 1 to find me' . If the caller presses 1 then the system will call the number you specify and the system will tell you that you have a call and give you the option to accept the call or send it back to voicemail. When the call comes in it will display caller ID if you have caller ID service on your phone and if the ID comes through on the call (not all phone companies can pass caller ID information to each other)
- Documentation will be provided including extension and password information, voicemail retrieval instructions, find me configuration and call history access
- In the event of a system outage ITS will arrange an emergency remote call forward of your main phone number to our phone system
- Once the emergency remote call forward* is complete any calls to your main phone number will be answered by your auto attendant greeting and callers will be able to transfer to you at your extension or leave voicemail if you do not answer the phone
- Once service is restored at your main office ITS will cancel the remote call forward
* - The phone company charges a fee for the remote call forward. The exact cost of this service can be determined by calling your phone company
